we should talk to gay people.

I have not talked to a lot of gay people about this, but I strongly suspect them to say that it’s similar to how I have felt about women because I happen to heterosexual. Stuff like, “that looks like an interesting person. I’m attracted to them. I’m going to talk to them. Perhaps we can strike up a conversation.”

The implication that being gay is a choice often presupposes that it is false, or fake in comparison to heterosexuality which of course would not then be a choice. If sexuality is “not a choice” for heterosexuals then why would homosexuality be a “choice” for gay people?
